The residents have been disappointed with the lack of court area in the Northwest Resiliency Park. Recently, they decided to meet up to discuss the concept designs of the park, which did not include any space for tennis court.

The park is going to include a multi-use athletic field, a big lawn for hosting events and some cafes. However, a tennis court is missing from the plans. Former councilman Tim Occhipinti, who resides near the park, said that the current pickleball and tennis courts are always full with players. However, Matt Maher, who also resides close to the park, termed the plan as a ‘real disappointment.’ In his opinion, it’s true that it’s not possible to fit the basketball, pickleball, and tennis courts in a single field. But, if a multi-purpose field is constructed that will reduce the tranquillity and size of the park, it will limit the access of people playing in the courts. He also said that a third soccer field in Hoboken is not actually necessary.
